2. What's the refund policy?

3. Is my enrollment fee transferable?

Once you have successfully created an account on Thinkific, the Certificate of Completion will be issued to name used in the account creation. Therefore, please make sure your official name is accurately displayed in the account.


4. Is it okay if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends the training?

As explained above, once you have successfully created an account on Thinkific, the Certificate of Completion will be issued to name used in the account creation. We cannot subsequently amend the Certificate for you as the Certificate will be automatically generated by our training system. Therefore, please make sure your official name is accurately displayed in the account when you create an account on Thinkific.


5. Do I really have to complete the course within a specified time frame? Any expiry date of my purchased courses?

You are not required to complete the course within a specified time frame. Please note that as part of our contractual terms, you will need to complete the purchased course within 1 year of course. The purchased course will then be expired. No refund will be arranged. In addition, the Certificate of Completion will only be issued upon actual completion of the course. We encourage you to complete the course as soon as you can once payment is made.

6. Do I need to take any test after watching the training video?

Yes, there is a quiz to be completed at the end of each course that the Assessment requirement is clearly shown in the course information page that please check for details to know the Assessment Test requirement.

7. What if I fail the Quiz?

You can retake the Quiz after each failed attempt.


8. Can I have a copy of the course materials for my record and own use?

Due to copyrights, we may not be able to provide the course materials to you. But you may email us your request at [email protected]


9. Can my employer pay for the online course fee?

The fees are paid online that we accept online payment and credit card payment. You can keep the receipt and claim reimbursement from your employer. If your employer want to pay for you, please email us at [email protected].


Questions specific to the Hong Kong SFC CPT Courses

10. What exactly is SFC CPT about? 

Under SFC Guidelines on Continuous Professional Training, CPT hours are time spent by individuals in undertaking CPT activities. The CPT activities should be of relevance to the functions to be performed by them and of significant intellectual and practical contents which involve interaction with other individuals. 

SFC Licensed Individuals are required to remain fit and proper to perform their functions at a professional level. 

Relevant topics for individuals at the representative or relevant individual level include, amongst others: 

(a) applicable compliance, legislative and regulatory standards;

(b) business conduct and ethical standards;

(c) market developments, new financial products and risk management systems;

(d) business communication skills and trade practices;

(e) general law principles;

(f) basic accounting theories;

(g) fundamental economic analysis;

(h) Fintech;

(i) environmental, social and governance (ESG);

(j) cybersecurity; and

(k) information technology.

Relevant topics for responsible officers or executive officers of registered institutions who play a crucial role in ensuring effective corporate governance and control may, in addition to the above topics, include the following: 

(a) business management; 

(b) risk management and control strategy; 

(c) general management and supervisory skills; 

(d) macro and micro economic analysis; and 

(e) financial reporting and quantitative analysis.


11. How many SFC CPT does a licensed person need to take in a calendar year?

With effective from 1 January 2022,  an individual should attend at least five CPT hours per calendar year (out of the 10 hours for SFC Licensed Representatives and 12 hours for Responsible Officers) on topics directly relevant to the regulated activity or activities for which he or she is licensed at the time the CPT hours are undertaken. As a general principle, such CPT hours should be allocated to cover the practice areas of the individual in proportion to the time and effort that he or she spends in each area.


Note 1: Examples of topics that are directly relevant to the regulated activities for which the licensed representative/responsible officer is licensed include applicable compliance, legislative and regulatory standards, business conduct, market developments, new financial products and risk management systems. For example, our Fund Manager Series should be relevant to Type 9 regulated activities for this purpose. 

Note 2:  Topics related to “ethics” include topics relating to integrity, fairness, due care and diligence, good faith, objectivity, best interests of clients, treating clients fairly, avoidance of conflicts of interest and confidentiality of clients’ information. For example, our Ethics Series should be relevant courses for the fulfilment of attaining CPT hours on ethics training. 

Note 3: Topics related to “compliance” include topics relating to the legal and regulatory framework for the financial industry, codes of conduct and industry guidelines issued by regulatory authorities as well as policies and guidelines set out by your firm internally or by other professional bodies. For example, all our compliance online courses should be relevant courses for the fulfilment of attaining CPT hours on compliance training particularly AML Series and SFC Reporting and Filing Series as they apply to all SFC licensed persons.  



12. Which courses may fulfill the CPT requirements of the SFC? 

Please note that although CompliancePlus is NOT an accredited CPT provider, we are of the view that all of our online courses may be counted as a relevant CPT course subject to internal compliance approval of your organization as all our courses are compliance and regulatory related. 

Prior to making online payment for our online courses, please make sure you attend right courses you need for fulfilling your own training requirements.  

Please also be reminded that with effect from 1 January 2022, the SFC requires an individual should attend at least five CPT hours per calendar year (out of the 10 hours for SFC Licensed Representatives and 12 hours for Responsible Officers) on topics directly relevant to the regulated activity or activities for which he or she is licensed at the time the CPT hours are undertaken. 


13. Can I take online course to fulfill my SFC CPT training requirements?

The taking of online courses will be considered as self-study. Provided that there are independent assessments, such as evaluation or test results, and sufficient records to demonstrate fulfilment and duration of training, they can be counted towards acceptable SFC CPT activities.  Those online courses have to be of relevance to the SFC licensees’ functions. As such, our training platform will keep record of your login time and completion time for each course you take to demonstrate fulfilment and duration of training you attend online. You will also be asked to take our QUIZ as our assessment for your online learning with us. 


14. Can my CPT hours be carried forward to next year if I attend more CPT hours than I am required for this Calendar Year? 

Excess CPT hours accumulated in one calendar year cannot be carried forward to the following year.


15. Will this Online Training System keep the SFC CPT training record for me?

Once you create an account with us, your account should keep log of the online courses you attend in the training system. However, the training system will not be responsible for keeping the CPT training record for you or your employer. We suggest you keeping the certificate of completion as your record and seek your firm's compliance advice if needed on matters related to keeping of records as required by the SFC. 


Questions specific to Hong Kong Law Society CPD Courses

16. Which courses can fulfill CPD requirements of the Law Society of Hong Kong?

Please note that only the courses under the category “Accredited by the Law Society of Hong Kong” are awarded CPD points by the Law Society of Hong Kong. Prior to making online payment for our online courses, please make sure you attend right courses you need for fulfilling your own training requirements.  


17. Do these courses count for Hong Kong Law Society CPD? Don't I need to attend a live class to get my credits?

Please note that NOT ALL of our online courses can be counted for Hong Kong Law Society CPD. Only specified online courses under the category “Accredited by the Law Society of Hong Kong” are accredited with the Law Society of Hong Kong and can be counted  for CPD points. 18. I am a qualified lawyer in New York. Can I take the course to fulfill any US professional training requirements?
